What would you do if the love of your life was just a step away, but impossible to touch? “Five Feet Apart” asks us a question that forces us to rethink our own limits. A love story that will make you question everything you thought you knew about life.
A few years ago, the film Five Feet Apart was released, starring Cole Sprouse who also appears in the series (Riverdale) and Hayle Lu Richardson who has also been in series such as (Ravenswood). It tells the story of Stella, a seventeen-year-old girl who suffers from cystic fibrosis (this disease mainly affects the lungs, causing thick mucus to accumulate in them, making breathing difficult). Stella spends most of her life in the hospital, where she has a friendship with the nurses and her best friend, Poe, who is also hospitalized in another room.
However, her life will take a very big turn in their lives when she meets Will, a young man who suffers from the same disease as her. They explain in the film that two people who suffer from cystic fibrosis cannot touch each other due to the danger of contagion, leaving only a distance of two meters from each other. Despite this obstacle, Stella and Will cannot help but create a strong bond and both will end up feeling a connection so strong that they were willing to risk everything.
At first, Five Feet Apart can't remind you of The Fault in Our Stars, although this movie can be much more agonizing. The chemistry between the protagonists is too great, and the fact that they can't even be close to each other or hug each other makes you want to throw your hands up in the air and scream at the screen in more than one scene. In addition, Poe's character adds a touch of humor to a scene that is sometimes too dramatic. The truth is that he plays a great role and it's impossible not to like him.
In short, the film leaves a great message that gives a lot to think about what it really means to live, which reminded me a lot of Me Before You.
Five Feet Apart. It shows how lucky we are just to be able to breathe for ourselves, to be able to touch, hug or kiss those people we love and are important to us. But, above all, it shows how it is worth taking advantage of every second of our lives as if it were the last.
Because it could be the last day at any moment.

Because it could be the last day at any moment.
That's all for today, thank you very much for reading, God bless you! :)

I enjoyed this post! I have seen this movie and completely adore it. I love how you put in perspective and described the movie. Overall i enjoyed this blog and love you chose this movie as a topic!
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on romance films, but the connection that you make to life is too real. You could easily lose that person you love in the blink of an eye and not really cherish or think about the moments that you spend with your loved ones.

ReplyDeleteI remember watching Five Feet Apart and loving the story. The chemistry between Stella and Will was so compelling, and it broke my heart to see the relationship shaken by a disease that made something as simple as touch a life-threatening risk. The way the film balances moments of hope and humor with its deeply emotional and sometimes agonizing storyline reminded me of Me Before You too. It’s one of those films that stays with you long after the credits roll.
DeleteHow you captured the emotional intensity of Five Feet Apart and its exploration of love and connection despite physical barriers was amazing. Your comparison for other films also adds depth, and the way you emphasize the importance of cherishing every moment is truly moving. It’s obvious you have a deep appreciation for the themes of these films.

I loved watching that movie and think you did a really good job and recapping what it's about. I also think you did a really good job at relating the story to our everyday lives. I think that we too often take advantage of things like being able to touch and be around those that we love and this movie really does help you put into perspective how lucky we are and may not even now that we are lucky.
ReplyDeleteI was that surprised when you said "The Fault in our stars" I loved that movie.watched it because of an actor I loved a lot. It does give that very deep meaning. and it's so truly beautiful in a way.
ReplyDeleteYour four new entries look great, Ana. Your writing flows well, and you have personality in your writing. Good visual appeal with images and layout. You are developing your content pretty well and working the concepts of rhetoric to connect to your audience and keep them engaged. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThe way you described five feet apart, so emotional provoking and I enjoyed reading every single word of your post!
